# About Karnataka Board Help Center

Karnataka Board Help Center is a free, independent guide to the exams run by KSEAB and the Department of Pre-University Education. We explain what to do — which form goes where, what a deadline really is, what a rule actually says — with the official source linked and the date we checked it.

We are not the board. We are an editorial team that reads the circulars so you do not have to.

The site is written for Karnataka's SSLC (Class 10) and 1st and 2nd PUC students, repeaters, private candidates and the parents helping them.

Why this site exists

Three things changed at once in Karnataka's 2025-26 cycle, and much of the web still describes the old rules.

— The supplementary exam no longer exists. Since 2023-24 the board runs Annual Exam 1, Exam 2 and Exam 3 in one academic year. Large national portals still publish pages titled "Karnataka SSLC Supplementary Exam", so students searching "supplementary" and students searching "exam 2" land on contradictory pages.

— The pass mark moved from 35% to 33%. When we researched this site, a major portal was still telling students they needed 35%. Someone scoring between 33% and 35% could read it and believe they had failed when they had passed.

— Third language: marks or grades, 625 or 525? The government announced grades and a 525 aggregate; the High Court directed valuation under the existing rules; a review petition followed; the 2026 marks cards were issued out of 625. Pages from March 2026 still state 525 as fact, so students calculating their own percentage get a number their marks card does not agree with.

Nobody was keeping a dated, sourced, correctable record of this.

The problems we exist to solve

These are the questions we see asked over and over by students with nowhere else to ask.

— "If I write Exam 2, will I lose my Exam 1 marks?" The system is best-of and passed subjects are retained, but almost nobody says so plainly, and the fear stops students improving.

— "Will my marks card show that this was attempt 2?" The most emotionally loaded question in the journey. We say on that page that we could not confirm it against an official document, rather than guess.

— Revaluation, retotalling and scanned copy. At least six inconsistent fee figures circulate, and almost nobody explains the difference between the three or the order to do them in.

— Registration you cannot do yourself. SSLC forms go through the school login, stranding students who left school or moved district, and deadlines have shifted mid-cycle.

— Marks card corrections, where a one-character mismatch between marks card, transfer certificate and Aadhaar can block PU admission.

— PUC admission in a four-to-six week window, combinations that quietly close off KCET, NEET or CA later, and whether an improved marks card reaches KCET counselling in time.

— Result day, when the official portal is under load and lookalike domains imitating the official result address rank in search.

— Kannada-medium students, served machine translations of English pages. We publish Kannada exam terms beside the English ones and translate nothing by machine.

What this site does not do

We are not KSEAB, DPUE, KEA or any government office. We cannot register you for an exam, look up your result, re-check your paper, correct or reissue your marks card, or get you admitted anywhere. Only the board can do those things, and we link its portals on every relevant page. We do not sell exam access, question papers, guaranteed passes or agent services.

How our pages are made

Every fee, date, eligibility rule and deadline traces to a primary source — an official KSEAB or DPUE page, a circular, a government order, or a court order — and we link it. Where sources disagree, we show both. Where we could not verify something, we label it unverified rather than publish it as fact. Pages carry a byline and a last-reviewed date. Some drafts are AI-assisted; a human editor checks every page against the primary source before it publishes.

Naming the operator matters: a real, contactable publisher is accountable for what these pages say, instead of an anonymous site that vanishes when it gets something wrong. We also run independent help centers for other Indian boards; each is written for its own students, and nothing here is copied from them.

There is no login, no account and no paywall.
