Karnataka SSLC & II PUC Syllabus & Blueprint: Chapter-Wise Marks
The Karnataka Board blueprint is a chapter-by-chapter marks distribution table for each subject, released by KSEAB each cycle. It shows you exactly how many marks come from each chapter and what question types (1-mark, 5-mark, essay) appear. Using the blueprint is the single most efficient way to decide where to spend your revision time.
The official syllabus lists the topics that can appear in the exam; the blueprint adds the weight to each chapter. Both are available on the KSEAB portal through the SSLC and PUC student corners.
Reading the blueprint — what each column means

How to turn the blueprint into a revision plan
- Download the current-cycle blueprint — Find it on the KSEAB student corner for your class and subject. It is usually released in September–October.
- Sort chapters by total mark contribution — Rank chapters from highest to lowest marks weight. These are your must-cover chapters before any lower-weight ones.
- Match chapter weight to question type — Heavy chapters with long-answer slots need deeper preparation; chapters with only 1-mark slots need only quick recall.
- Cross-check with model papers — Confirm the blueprint holds by checking last year's model paper. If a chapter always appears, it belongs in your high-priority list regardless of its theoretical weight.
Confirm on the official portal: Blueprints are updated every cycle and sometimes carry mid-cycle revisions if syllabus changes happen. Always confirm the current-year blueprint on the official KSEAB portal before finalising your study plan.
