Karnataka 2nd PUC 2026-27 Blueprint Released: What to Do Now

KSEAB has released subject-wise Karnataka 2nd PUC blueprints for the 2026–27 academic year, for students preparing for the 2027 board exams. The blueprint shows the question-paper structure, marks distribution and question types. It is useful for planning study time, but it is not a list of guaranteed questions and it is not the final timetable.

## Who is affected?

This update is for all II PUC / Class 12 students studying in the Science, Commerce and Arts streams during the 2026–27 academic year. It also matters to repeaters, private candidates and students preparing for the 2027 KSEAB examination through independent study.

The blueprints cover subjects such as Kannada, English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Computer Science, Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, History, Political Science, Geography, Psychology and Sociology. The exact list may differ by subject and stream, so students must download the blueprint for their own paper.

The release was reported by Shiksha on September 1, 2026, and by Physics Wallah on September 1, 2026. Both reports say that KSEAB has made the subject-wise documents available through its official portal. We found the relevant KSEAB portal and document sections, but the individual PUC PDF links were not consistently accessible during verification. Do not download a file from a lookalike website without checking that it came from the official KSEAB domain.

## What should students do now?

1. Open the KSEAB website: kseab.karnataka.gov.in. 2. Go to the department documents / PUC section. 3. Look for the II PUC question-paper or blueprint documents. 4. Select your exact subject and download the PDF. 5. Check the subject name, medium and academic year before saving it. 6. Compare the blueprint with your current syllabus and textbook.

Do not use the Physics blueprint to plan Chemistry, or the Commerce pattern to plan Science. The number of questions, mark values, sections and internal choices can be different for every subject.

## What does the blueprint tell you?

A blueprint can show:

- the types of questions expected; - the marks given to each type of question; - the number of questions in each section; - chapter-wise or unit-wise distribution, where provided; - internal choices; and - the broad structure of the paper.

This helps you make a realistic revision plan. For example, if a subject has many short-answer questions, you should practise writing clear answers in less time. If a unit carries more marks, give it more revision time—but do not completely skip low-weightage chapters.

The blueprint does not guarantee that a particular question will appear. It also does not replace the syllabus, textbook, model paper or previous-year question papers.

We could not confirm any fee for downloading the official blueprint because the official PDF links were not consistently accessible. Students should not rely on a fee quoted by an unofficial website.

## What happens if you ignore it?

Nothing automatic happens if you do not download the blueprint. You will still be able to write the examination if your registration and eligibility are completed correctly. However, ignoring the document may leave you unsure about the paper pattern and how much time to spend on different question types.

A better approach is to spend one study session checking the blueprint, then prepare a weekly plan. Use it together with the full syllabus. After that, practise at least one model or previous-year paper using the same section order and time limit.

If KSEAB later uploads a revised blueprint, the newer official document should be followed. Save the PDF date and check the portal again before final revision.

## Our practical advice

Do not panic if the blueprint looks different from an old question paper. Old papers may follow an earlier pattern. Start with your textbook, mark the units shown in the latest blueprint, and ask your teacher to explain any mismatch.
