KCET 2026 Round 2: Complete Choice, Fee and College Reporting Today
By Kavya Prasad Last verified: August 28, 2026
# KCET 2026 Round 2: What must allotted students do today?
If KEA has allotted you a seat in KCET 2026 Round 2, do not stop after checking the result. You must complete the required choice selection, pay the fee if applicable, download the confirmation slip and report to the allotted college by August 28, 2026. The exact closing time should be checked on your KEA login. One education report lists the college-reporting cut-off as 5:30 PM, but we could not retrieve the original KEA notice directly to independently confirm that time. Act early. ## Who is affected?
This update is for candidates who took part in KCET 2026 Round 2 counselling and received an allotment for courses such as engineering, architecture, farm science and related professional courses.
It is especially important for:
- Students who received a new seat in Round 2. - Students who are happy with the allotted college and want to join. - Students who do not want the seat and want to leave the counselling process. - Students who were waiting for the final allotment after the provisional list.
This is a new step after the August 23 provisional allotment and the August 24 final allotment. The earlier provisional-allotment stage is over. Candidates must now act on the final result. (engineering.careers360.com)
## What should you do now?
1. Open the official KEA counselling portal through kea.kar.nic.in or the KCET admission link shown in your KEA login. 2. Log in using your Karnataka CET application details. 3. Download and read the final allotment letter carefully. 4. Select the choice shown for your round and allotment. 5. If you accept the seat, complete the fee-payment step shown in the portal. 6. Download the confirmation slip or admission document after payment. 7. Report to the allotted college with the required original documents and copies.
The available reports say that Round 2 candidates must use Choice 1 or Choice 4. Choice 1 means accepting the seat and completing admission. Choice 4 means leaving the KEA counselling process instead of accepting the allotted seat. Do not select a choice casually. Once submitted, it can affect your admission and further counselling options. (engineering.careers360.com)
### Important dates and actions
| Activity | Date or deadline | What the student should do | |---|---:|---| | Round 2 provisional allotment | August 23, 2026 | Check the provisional seat and raise any permitted objection. | | Objection window | August 24, 2026, until 4 PM | Report an error through the process given by KEA. This window has ended. | | Round 2 final allotment | August 24, 2026 | Treat this as the final seat for this round. | | Choice selection and fee payment | August 25–27, 2026 | Complete the online choice and payment steps. This window has ended or may be closed. | | Confirmation slip download | August 25–27, 2026 | Download it if the portal allows it for your choice. | | College reporting | August 28, 2026 | Report to the allotted college today. |
Fee warning: We are not publishing a fee amount because the amount can depend on the course, category and instructions displayed in the candidate’s KEA account. Use only the amount shown on the official KEA payment page. Do not rely on a number copied from social media or an unofficial article.
## What happens if you do nothing?
If you do not complete the required online step, fee payment or college reporting by the deadline, KEA may treat you as not accepting the seat. The allotted seat can then be cancelled, and you may not be able to use that allotment for admission.
If you are travelling, facing a payment problem or cannot reach the college, take screenshots of the error, save payment reference numbers and contact KEA through the official contact details shown on its portal. Do not send personal documents or money to an unofficial agent.
Parents should check three things before the student leaves home: the allotment letter, the confirmation slip or payment proof, and the college’s reporting instructions. Keep the original marks cards and certificates safe, and carry copies where required.
## Our verification note
The final allotment date, choice process and August 28 reporting deadline were reported by Careers360, Jagran Josh and UniList after the KEA counselling update. The official KEA portal is the correct place to complete the action, but its live notice page could not be retrieved directly during our check. For that reason, students should confirm the final time and document list inside their own KEA login before submitting anything. (engineering.careers360.com)
