KCET 2026 Round 2 Provisional Allotment: What to Do Today

Last verified: August 24, 2026 By Meera N., News Editor

## Should you act on the KCET Round 2 seat allotment now?

No. The KCET Round 2 result published on August 23, 2026 is provisional, not final. Check your allotment on the KEA portal today. If you see a genuine error, email your objection with proof to keauthority-ka@nic.in by 4 PM on August 24, 2026. Do not report to the college or pay fees only because a provisional seat is showing.

## Who is affected?

This update is for students who took part in KEA UGCET 2026 Round 2 counselling for engineering, architecture, farm science, veterinary, nursing, pharmacy, BPT, allied health science and other listed courses.

It also matters to students watching UGNEET 2026 Round 1 medical and dental allotment. The official KEA page lists provisional allotment links for both counselling processes.

This is a new step after KEA postponed the Round 2 allotment that students had earlier expected in August. The provisional list is now available, but the final allotment and the next payment and reporting dates are still to be followed from KEA’s next notice.

## What you should do today

1. Open the official KEA UGCET 2026 page: cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/ugcet2026. 2. Open the UGCET 2026 Round 2 provisional seat allotment link dated 23-08-2026. 3. Log in with the details asked for on the KEA result page. 4. Save a screenshot or PDF of your allotment and note the course, college, category and cutoff details. 5. Compare the result with the options you entered before the option-entry window closed. 6. If there is a real mistake, email KEA before 4 PM on August 24. Explain the problem in simple points and attach supporting proof, such as your option-entry record or category document.

KEA’s instructions, as reported by EdexLive, allow objections about issues such as cutoff-related problems or a candidate’s entered options not being considered correctly. However, an objection is not meant for a case where you received no seat because you did not enter an option. KEA has also said that you cannot change your college or course options at this stage.

## Important dates and action table

| Event | Date or status | What you should do | |---|---:|---| | UGCET 2026 Round 2 provisional allotment published | August 23, 2026 | Check and save your allotment | | Last time to send a genuine objection | August 24, 2026, by 4 PM | Email KEA with a clear explanation and proof | | Final Round 2 allotment | Not confirmed on the official page checked | Wait for KEA’s next notice | | Fee payment and college reporting | Not confirmed on the official page checked | Do not act until KEA publishes final instructions |

We could not confirm any fee amount for this provisional stage from the official KEA page or the news report checked. Do not trust a fee figure shared in a WhatsApp group unless it appears in an official KEA instruction or allotment order.

## What happens if you do nothing?

If your allotment is correct, you may not need to send an objection. KEA will examine the objections it receives and then publish the final allotment. But you must continue checking the official KEA website because the next step may include a choice-selection window, fee payment, confirmation slip or college reporting deadline.

If you ignore a genuine error and the objection window closes at 4 PM on August 24, 2026, KEA may not accept a late complaint. A late email is not a safe replacement for submitting your objection on time.

If you have received a seat, do not travel to the college only on the basis of the provisional result. EdexLive reported that candidates should wait because the allotment may change after KEA checks objections. The final allotment order and KEA’s instructions will decide whether you must pay, download an admission order or report to the college.

## One warning for nervous students and parents

A provisional allotment is not the same as confirmed admission. Take a screenshot, read the KEA notice carefully and keep checking the official portal. Do not delete your option-entry record or send money to anyone who promises to “freeze” a seat outside the KEA process.

For background, also read the earlier Karnataka Board Help Center updates dated August 20, August 16 and August 12, 2026 about the Round 2 postponement, expected date and option entry. This August 24 update is different: it covers the release of the provisional allotment and the objection deadline.
