KCET 2026 Round 2 Seat Allotment Postponed: What Students Should Do

Last verified: August 20, 2026 Byline: Ananya Rao

KEA has postponed the KCET 2026 Round 2 provisional seat allotment. The result was earlier scheduled for August 19, 2026, after 10 a.m. A new release date has not been announced yet. If you entered your choices, do not panic or submit a fresh application. Keep checking the official KEA counselling portal for the revised result and the next payment or reporting dates. This is a new update after our August 16 post, which reported the expected August 19 date. You can find that earlier update through the Karnataka Board Help Center home page.

## Who is affected?

This update is for students who are taking part in KCET/UGCET 2026 Round 2 counselling for courses such as engineering, architecture, farm science, veterinary, pharmacy, B.Sc Nursing and allied health courses.

The same schedule also covers UGNEET 2026 Round 1 for medical and dental courses. However, this post mainly concerns Karnataka PUC students using KCET marks and rank for professional-course admission.

The postponement does not cancel Round 2. It only means that KEA needs more time before publishing the provisional seat allotment.

## What changed since the earlier schedule?

KEA’s August 7 schedule placed the provisional UGCET Round 2 allotment after 10 a.m. on August 19, 2026. Careers360 now reports that KEA has postponed the release and will announce a revised date later. The current KEA portal should be treated as the place to check for the official result and further instructions. The revised date was not available when we checked on August 20.

This is important because some students may see a mock allotment and think it is final. It is not. The mock result is only a guide based on your rank, available seats and entered options. Your actual college and course can change in the provisional allotment.

## What should you do now?

| Task | What to do | Date or status | |---|---|---| | Check the provisional Round 2 allotment | Log in with your CET details when KEA activates the result link | Earlier date: August 19; postponed; new date not announced | | Check your web options | Review your saved college and course order in the KEA portal | The option-entry window was scheduled to close on August 20, 2026 | | Read the allotment instructions | Check the choice options, fee payment date and reporting date shown by KEA | Wait for the revised schedule | | Keep documents ready | Keep your verification slip, PUC marks card, rank details and identity documents ready | Do this before the result is released |

If the option-entry window is still visible in your login, check whether KEA has allowed any further change. If it is closed, do not use unofficial links or send money to anyone claiming to “change” your options.

For UGCET courses, KEA’s earlier schedule said that Choice 2 and Choice 3 would not be available after the Round 2 allotment. Students would generally need to follow the choice shown in the allotment instructions, such as accepting the seat or leaving the process. Read the fresh KEA notice carefully because the postponed schedule may include updated dates or instructions.

## What happens if you do nothing?

If you do not check the result, you may miss the fee-payment or college-reporting deadline after KEA publishes the revised schedule. A seat may then be cancelled or you may lose the chance to continue in that counselling round.

If you receive a seat, do not pay immediately until you confirm the course, college, fee amount, choice status and last date on the official KEA page. Save the allotment letter and payment receipt. If no seat is allotted, wait for KEA’s instructions about the next counselling round instead of assuming that your application has been rejected permanently.

We could confirm the postponement through recent education-news reporting, but we could not retrieve a separate postponement notice from the KEA portal during this check. Therefore, we are not publishing a new result date, fee or reporting deadline until KEA posts it officially.
