Model papers and the three-exam scheme

KSEAB publishes model question papers for SSLC and 2nd PUC each cycle — and since Karnataka moved to multiple board exams per year (with the best score counting), those model papers are the pattern authority for every attempt in the cycle, not just the first.

Past papers still matter for question style and repeated topics, and this site's subject pages track the most frequently examined areas for the subjects we cover. But when scheme details change (attempts, weightage, grace policies), the board's current circulars override anything an older paper implies.

Practice strategy when you get more than one attempt

1. Prepare for Exam 1 as the only exam — The best-score rule is a safety net, not a plan. Students who "save themselves" for a later exam consistently underperform in all of them.
2. Use the gap between exams diagnostically — If you do take a later exam, your first attempt is the most accurate mock you will ever get — rework its paper completely before the next attempt.
3. Practise from KSEAB model papers first — They carry the current structure and marks distribution; older papers may predate the current scheme.
